Grilo (Porto, 1993) is a sound artist, performer, composer, poet, and lyricist, interested in the languages of absurdity and wonder.<\/p>\n
As a creator, he has worked on THEORIES in collaboration with photographer Jo\u00e3o Hasselberg and HVIT with director Miguel C. Tavares. He is also co-author of \u012a PRU VI\u2019ZAR with Marcos Cavaleiro and frequently performs in concerts as an improviser and creator.<\/p>\n
Grilo is part of the band Tigre, where he is a composer, lyricist, singer, and pianist. He has published two poetry books as self-releases: Observat\u00f3rio (2019) and Teoria do Sim (2023).<\/p>\n
He composed the chamber opera Pequena Hist\u00f3ria de Um Povo com Mem\u00f3ria and co-wrote its libretto. He also created the sound design for theater pieces such as Parallax by In\u00eas Garrido, O Gato Malhado e a Andorinha Sinh\u00e1 by Ant\u00f3nio Parra, and soundtracks for dance performances like coexistimos, Artifici\u0306u, and fio^ by In\u00eas Campos, and Considerate Lilia by In\u00eas and Teia Campos. He composed the soundtrack for Solos a 180\u00ba by the company Radar360, a circus performance, and in cinema, the score for As Horas by Marta Reis and Marta Sousa Ribeiro.<\/p>\n
In addition to his sound design work for dance, film, and theater, Grilo is currently focusing on two projects: FREST\u00c3O and IVU’KAR, both of which combine poetry, music, performance, and movement, exploring themes like the subliminal, the invisible, the absurd, collective biography, laughter, and crying.<\/p>\n
