TRACE is a project of artistic creation
\nabout the gesture of tracing and annotating movement
\nabout tracing a path in the territory with the body
\nand also about eroding and opening holes<\/p>\n
TRACE is a project that reflects on the path of human beings in a their symbiotic relationship with the surrounding environment, through 3 actions: breathing, walking and being still. These actions will be developed as choreopolitical agents, which operate through movement for a consciousness of the body and the territory. It will be online throughout 2021 via 12 scores, 3 sound pieces and 3 videos. The scores will be published monthly and the rest of the materials at the Spring equinox in March, the summer solstice in June and the Autumn equinox in September. There will also be 3 workshops (date and place to be announced).<\/p>\n
The 3 actions that are the at basis of this project, are also 3 primordial gestures of humanity. This triad belongs to the matrix movements of the human being, breathing the action that gives life and in its absence removes it. Walking the act that makes us move forward and search. Being still the fundamental gesture that intersperses each and every movement. They are also gestures that create a space for deep reflection and awareness of the body, ourselves and the world, when explored beyond their function as involuntary mechanisms. These actions are still matrix to all beings that live either in movement or in quietness, and happen in a continuous and symbiotic relationship with the environment.<\/p>\n
The writer Clarice Lispector mentioned in her book “The hour of the Star”: \u201ceverything in the world started with a yes. One molecule said yes to another molecule and life was born\u201d. In addition to one molecule saying yes to another molecule, according to science, one bacterium ate another, had indigestion and a cosmic cannibalism occurred. In addition to a cosmic cannibalism, catastrophic eruptions and chemical battles were also necessary for our planet to be as it is. Only after these tremendous battles did oxygen become king of the atmosphere and life began to emerge, as we know it today. However, before the oxygen victory, much more happened. There was a prehistory of prehistory of prehistory. The universe never started! Therefore we know that the universe does not really begin and that regardless of our idiosyncrasy, we belong to one another, we live in cooperation.
