Inês Campos

Inês Campos (Porto, 1990) is an interdisciplinary artist who, interested in choreography, film, music, and visual arts, creates hybrid projects where she explores the relationship between the body and its symbolic place through an imaginary of pragmatic poetry, juxtaposing the real and the unreal.

As a creator, she is the author of the pieces coexistimos, Artificĭu, and fio ^, and as a co-creator, Castōr e Pollūx with Teia Campos, Sublinhar with Marta Cerqueira, and HALE and ELAH with the international collective ThisTakesTime. Later this year, she will premiere frente-a-frente, in collaboration with Vahan Kerovpyan.

She collaborates/has collaborated with Tânia Carvalho, Flora Détraz, and Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz in dance; Kalle Nio in theater performances; and in music in live performances and recordings with Sérgio Godinho, José Mário Branco, Amélia Muge, Manel Cruz, Luca Argel, Lula Pena, and Perota Chingo.

She participated in films by Catarina Vasconcelos, Cláudia Varejão, and Henrique Câmara Pina and wants to do more cinema.

She is a co-founder of the bands Sopa de Pedra and Tigre, where she contributes as a composer, performer, musician, and graphic artist. She has exhibited her embroidery and poems at the Le Non-lieu gallery in Roubaix and at the Serralves Foundation in Porto and shares her practices on the intersection of voice and body in courses in Portugal and Belgium.

She graduated in dance and choreography at the Escola Superior de Dança and Fórum Dança in Lisbon and at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris, and completed the Musical Animators Course at Casa da Música in Porto.
