THEORIES is a symbolic, sonic, and visual journal. It is an archive we create about hands.
Composed of selected tracks from soundtracks for dance, theater, and cinema made by Grilo, and a growing collection of photographs of hands captured by João Hasselberg, this journal is an ongoing effort to document the history and details of personal gestures. It’s about celebrating multiplicity, the reading of hands, the hands that work, the ones that wave, the ones that ask, the hand as a symbol, idea, doubt, and form.
Live, they present this journal in the form of a concert/installation, where Grilo sings, plays piano and electronics, and João Hasselberg projects an endless archive of hands that envelop the space.
